Nocturne

The streets of this town breathe slowly at night

Glasses turn foggy, sometimes minds too

The stars are nowhere to be seen

So the moon hides behind the clouds

Such a voyeur that one!

The homeless shiver in the cold,

But the bills pile up

The sheep lie dreaming and the dogs laugh

At the poet who gazes at the night sky

Drinking the darkness with his eyes

Until it becomes a part of him
