Nameless

It was said that the river used to have a name
When it was younger
When the birds would sing
And the days were brighter
Before the songs turned to screams
Bodies floating down the streams
Back then, silence was not a sound
And death was just the beginning
Yes, someone gave the river a name,
A faceless child called fate
But it’s lost now
