Illusion

Morning arrives,
Bringing forth the illusion of a new beginning
But then black clouds creep into the sky
And in the crystal rain
All the best laid plans are gone to waste
Dusk approaches,
In the half light, the world feels like a better place
You welcome the darkness,
Because it’s honest
And when night finally arrives,
You wake up from your daylong slumber
And rise from the ground
Wandering the streets in search of inspiration
Until the soft glow of the street lamp
Falls upon a pretty face
And the spell of illusion is cast again
