Pride

The day the sky stopped being blue,
I walked down to the water
Loaded the boat with all my pride
And set sail
I could hear voices
All the laughter and the tears
Readily available on demand
Curious eyes followed me everywhere,
The solitary figure on the boat
All they wished was to drink from my cup,
Only to feel good about the bad taste
So I drifted far away,
Far beyond what I could see
There I laughed till I cried
And emptied my pride into the sea
