Hungry for sleep

I reach inside your mind,
Well lit and vacant,
To wipe the dust off the floor
It gives me joy to sing along
But I never was much of a dancer
Could the nights last longer if I tried,
With all my mind,
To ignore sleep the way it ignores me
I wish we could see the sun rise together for once
Just to see if the first light of day
Draws a new line across your face
And if I still want to touch your mind afterwards
With the enthusiasm of a fool
And the wisdom of a dead man
